Moxiflox is moxifloxacin which is fluoroquniolone fourth generation . Eva pharma is the owner of that rich product which is Egyptian company . Moxiflox is broad spectrum antibiotic . It covers gram postitive, gram negative , atypical And anaerobes . Moxiflox is the first line empirical once daily in MDRSP And PRSP (multi drug resistant streptococcus pneumonie , penicillin resistant streptococcus pneumonie ) . It used in Acute Excerpations of chronic bronchitis And community acquired pneumonia that is in chest infection .
In Surgery , it give complete resolution of symptoms with skin skin structure infections such as Cellulitis , Diabetic foot , post surgical wound infection and post traumatic wound infection .
In case of anaerobic it gives as mono therapy without metronidazole because it covers anaerobic bacteria .
In case of using antacids or vitamins with it , it should taken before antacids by 4 hours or after them by 8 hours .
It is contraindicated with drugs that prolonged QT interval because moxiflox prolonged QT interval .
It is not recommended with lactating mothers and pregnancy.
